AND IT WENT FOR - 78 Wychwood Park - WYCHWOOD PARK
In November, I posted this 2+1 bedroom, 4 bathroom house on a 121.39 x 145.34 foot lot at 78 Wychwood Park in Wychwood Park that had been on the market since October.
I hadn't posted it because Wychwood Park kind of gives me the creeps.
But then I noticed the kitchen...
It was the same Belgian country kitchen that was featured in the Canadian House and Home July 2013 issue...
And it was the kitchen of Hudson's Bay Company's vice-chairman, Bonnie Brooks.
Turns out, it was also done by Jill Kantelberg of Kantelberg & Co., the designer of the house that is currently for sale at 55A Rowanwood Avenue in Rosedale...
It was a beautiful house that Brooks bought in 2010 for $2,100,000 when it was the Toronto Life House of the Week and then did some renovations like the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the railings.
But I wasn't sure about the $2,995,000 asking price, even though a lot of work went into this house.
The fact that it was basically on Davenport didn't help...
It didn't sell and in January the price was dropped to $2,795,000.
I thought it was a much better price, but that it would still be a tough sell.
It sold on Wednesday...
For $2,559,000.
