PRICE DROP - 21 Mackenzie Crescent - BEACONSFIELD VILLAGE
In March, I posted this 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom detached house on a 20 x 100 foot lot at 21 Mackenzie Crescent.
It was a beautiful, old house.
But it hasn't been touched in a long time. And though a lot of money was spent on that William Morris wallpaper (thanks to the reader for the name)...
For the current buyer in this neighbourhood, this is most likely NOT what they are looking for.
I think they are looking for something not necessarily like the flip down the street at 9 Mackenzie Crescent...
That looked like this inside...
But perhaps something more along the lines of the house across the street at 20 Mackenzie Crescent...
That had an interior that looked like this...
The done house in the exact same house at 9 Mackenzie Crescent sold for $1,299,000 in April 2013 (or $1,572,000 in April 2015 money).
The house at 20 Mackenzie that was smaller and a semi, but with a style that would probably appeal to more prospective buyers, sold for $836,000 in September 2012 (or $1,080,000 in April 2015 money).
This house that would probably need a LOT of work to appeal to this market's buyers for this neighbourhood...
Was listed at $1,800,000.
So...yeah.
A wee bit high.
Obviously, it didn't sell and the price has now been dropped.
The new asking price is...
$1,625,000.
Considering that is still almost $50,000 higher than what the house at 9 Mackenzie would sell for now with a 10% annual increase...
I'm thinking this is still...
