On Wednesday, I posted this 3+1 bedroom, 3 bathroom semi on a 24.75 x 122 foot lot with one parking spot at 336 Berkeley Street in the Garden District.
It was a good looking house from the outside, but on the inside, it wasn't going to be for everyone.
Turns out, the mudflap art in the family room was not for most people...
But according to this Wired article, that image was just some guy's mom sitting in a bikini on the beach. If you want to read more about the son and now copyright holder of the Mudflap Girl, Ed Allen, you can go to his site here.
Allen's copyright ownership doesn't seem to be making much of a difference though because there is tons of merchandise with the image for sale on Etsy, Ebay, and Amazon.
It is also the symbol of this feminist site called Feministing (except she is giving the finger).
So, whether you feel like this is no big deal or the total representation of sexism, it's not what makes up the house.
Actually, it kind of is because, though I hate the word 'man cave', as one reader pointed out, this whole house is basically a man cave. And I kind of love it.
I just didn't love the fireplace stone. Or the fact that there was only the one full bathroom in the house.
But this was a good house. And there was a coach house that could be a rental, a studio, or a hang out space (fine...man cave).
It was listed at $1,149,000.
I thought that even though it was on the 'wrong' side of Parliament, it would sell closer to $1,369,000.
It sold in 2 days on the day I posted it...
For $1,165,000.
