PRICE DROP - 18 Foxley Street - BEACONSFIELD VILLAGE
Last week, this 3+2 bedroom, 5 bathroom semi/row house on a 25 x 134 foot lot at 18 Foxley Avenue was the Toronto House of the Week.
It is located across the street from the row house at 13 Foxley Street...
That sold for $825,000 in 2012.
There is something about this house that reminds me of the detached house at 85 Ilford Avenue in Wychwood....
That was detached and eventually sold for $1,251,000.
Except this house has Cole and Sons Woods and Pears wallpaper...
And not the awesome Clarissa Hulse's Harlequin Kallianthi wallpaper that was in the Ilford house (before they ripped it out!!!!)...
The asking price for this house last week was $1,849,000.
This week, unsurprisingly, it has had a price drop.
Here is what it looked like in 2011...
So, they did a lot of work.
The first and second floor were totally gutted and updated with the help of Emmanuel Belliveau, a former host of a few HGTV shows (among a bunch of other things). And though I don't love some aspects of it (like the tile around the fireplace and the faux wood tile in the bathrooms), it's a good house.
And it has a separate basement apartment.
But for $1.85, you want a basement, and as it is now, there is no access to that basement. Is the basement even updated? There are no photos so it is hard to tell.
And the main part of the house only has 3 bedrooms.
And it is technically a row house.
So....$1.85!?!
Yeah....I don't think so. More like $1,450,000 (it does have a double car garage).
The new asking price is...
$1,799,000.
This is going to take a while.
