AND IT WENT FOR - 79 Markland Street - DURAND, HAMILTON

Last week, I posted this 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom recently renovated house on a 51 x 230 foot lot at 79 Markland Street in the Durand neighbourhood of Hamilton.

It was sent in by one of the owners of Two Fold Interiors whose former house at 50 Hickson Street in Little Portugal in Toronto I had posted in the past.

This was also her house but I am not sure if it was a flip or where she lived.

Either way, it was for sale and like her house on Hickson, I really liked the renovation she had done here (minus the 3rd floor).

I was not very familiar with Hamilton so I wasn’t sure if the $2,699,000 asking price made sense. But I did compare it to recent sales of houses that weren’t as in good shape as this house and they all seemed to sell between $2 million and $2.2 million.

When I posted it, it had already been on the market for 2 weeks so I guess it is no surprise that it had a price drop to $2,499,000 the following day.

So, at that price, you could either buy a semi in Roncesvalles or…

Move to Hamilton with a huge lot and pool.

Looks like someone liked the idea of a large lot and pool because this house sold I think the day or 2 after the drop…

For $2,450,000.
