79 Markland Street - DURAND, HAMILTON
It was a house that was listed in 2011 for $459,000 and sold for $541,000. It was then renovated in what I think was 2016 and it was a really good house.
It was listed for $999,000 and sold for $1,180,000.
After I posted it, I learned that it was owned and renovated by one of the owners of Two Fold Interiors.
Recently, that designer sent me this listing in Hamilton for consideration. I am not sure if it is a flip or her own home but she told me that if I chose to post it, I could ‘Rip it apart, or swoon’.
And guess what, other than the colour of the outside of the house and the kitchen cabinet colour (which may look different in person)…
She has kept many of the original details while updating it with the floors, bathrooms, some railings, and of course the lighting and interior paint.
This is what it used to look like when it was listed in 2019…
The floors on the first 2 floors and the bathrooms were redone and the kitchen cabinets were painted with a few uppers removed. And the backyard has been fixed up.
The asking price is $2,699,000.
I am not very familiar with Hamilton but based on some recent sales of similar sized homes that sold between $2-$2.2 million, all of them needing work, this price doesn’t seem crazy.
Then again, I am not familiar with Hamilton.
But as for the house…
Possibly an option for those who want the space without the Toronto price?
