AND IT WENT FOR - 714 Walkerfield Avenue - PETERBOROUGH, TORONTO

Two days ago, I posted this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a 60 x 100 foot lot at 714 Walkerfield Avenue in the Old West End neighbourhood in Peterborough, Ontario.

It was one of renowned architect Eb Zeidler’s first designs and one of few homes he designed.

He is more widely know for his designs such as the Eaton Centre, the Hamilton University Health Science Centre*, and Ontario Place. Here he is via the Toronto Star standing in front of the construction of Ontario Place with his family…

This home in Peterborough has been owned by a couple who respected the history of their house and have seen themselves as ‘custodians’.

They said that…

‘If we ever had to sell, we could only sell to another midcentury modern aficionado.’

Hopefully they found that person because apparently this house sold the day before I posted it…

For $549,000.
